Crosspoint Church to Host Election Education Event

MISSOULA, Mont. (May 11, 2024) — Crosspoint Church will host an election education event on May 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 7500 Mullan Road. The event aims to inform the community about the importance of participating in the upcoming primary and general elections. Candidates from various races will be present to engage with attendees.

Christian Patriots are encouraged to attend and learn about their civic duty to vote in the primary election on June 4. The event will emphasize the impact of voter turnout on critical races and the overall political landscape, urging participants not to wait until the general election in November.

The evening will begin with an opening prayer by Les Spagnoli, assistant pastor at Crosspoint Church, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Ryan Darling, chair of the Missoula County Republican Central Committee and a candidate for House District 99, will discuss post-election audit processes.

Joe Bradley, the Republican National Committee’s state chair of election integrity for Montana, will address measures taken to ensure election integrity, including the deployment of poll watchers and attorneys. He will also participate in a Q&A session.

Candidates Brad Johnson and Mary Todd, both running for congressional seats, Sharyl Allen, a candidate for Office of Public Instruction, and Jeff Patterson, who will discuss flood plain expansion and the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC), will each speak for ten minutes.

Other speakers include Charles Garner, co-author of A Canary In a Coal Mine, Lyn Hellagaard discussing CI-126 and CI-127 initiatives, and Robin Sertell presenting CI-128, an abortion bill. Sertell, a three-time abortion survivor, will share her testimony and the reasons for opposing the bill.

Sonia Shearer-Hiett will cover voter registration, provisional ballots, hand-counting ballots, and the role of precinct captains. She will also provide guidance on mail-in ballots and ways to support candidates through canvassing and phone banking.

The event will conclude with a “speed dating” session, allowing attendees to interact directly with the candidates until 8:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for the community to ask questions and engage with those seeking public office.
