Republicans assume that when Republicans are in control the results are always good. That hasn’t been the case in the Public Service Commission. Most of these commissioners have voted against competition and for giving protected monopolies more protection.

That’s the reason I’m strongly supporting Dr. Annie Bukacek for PSC5. Bukacek represents a much-needed change in course from a Commission that is dominated by poorly qualified politicians looking for their next political “gig” to one of professionals capable of understanding what rate-controlling, market-based public utility regulation is about.

Bukacek is exceptional and doesn’t need the PSC job to maintain her lifestyle or her spot in the political limelight until she runs for another office. To the contrary, she’s scaling back her very successful medical practice to devote herself to public service in an area that affects everyone. Her activism on behalf of unborn children and in defense of medical freedom is well known. The PSC desperately needs this same integrity, intelligence, dedication and hard work.

Term-limited legislator Derek Skees is the opposite, representing exactly what has been wrong at the PSC. His pro-monopoly, rate-raising record on PSC issues in the legislature shows he’ll be “business as usual” on the Commission. Electing him would be a huge mistake.

Vote Dr. Annie Bukacek for PSC5—please!!
