The Water Court has granted a 60 day extension for filing an objection to the overreach of the CSKT Compact. The final filing date for the extension is February 9, 2023. Please file an objection!

In a nutshell, this Compact grants off-reservation water rights to the tribes. This is unprecedented…and an egregious over-reach by the government and the tribes. Ask agriculture users about how their water was delivered late and stopped early this past summer. This affected their crops, livestock, etc.. The trickle-down effect will harm all of us.  

Most Montanans do not understand that their water rights are being GIVEN away. The preliminary decree was mailed to 68,000 out of 300,000 residents that are affected by the CSKT Compact. This is a blatant violation of the Montanan citizen’s constitutional right to know and right to participate knowledgeably.
